What is a sub code in ESIC(Employees’ State Insurance Corporation)
In ESIC employer can applied/ take an a additional code after registration of his/her unit which is situated out side of his/her head office of main Unit. For example if employer has obtained a code for his/her main unit in Delhi and he wants to expand his business in other state but keeping his head office at Delhi, he can register his unit under ESIC in that state where is newly expanded his business for compliance his statuary provision of ESI Act .The Leges Juris Associates will advised you in sub-code registration.
Where the additional Sub-Code for New Unit under ESIC can be registered:
The employer can register his unit at that state where he has opened or started his new unit for manufacturing/ promotion/sales/ operation etc.. The ESIC have Regional offices and Sub Regional offices in every state and employer can applied for sub-code from that sate, from Regional office of ESIC.
Closure of Sub-Unit and surrender of Sub-code under Esic.
If employer with any reason wants to close his business from other sate and wants to continue his head office where he had taken main code of esic, can intimate to the ESIC about the closer and employer will also surrender his sub-code of his unit and after receiving the closer intimation, ESIC will inspect the unit. After satisfaction of ESIC, Sub-code may be cancelled and unit will be treated as non-functional or closed.
